Societal values are standards that help shape the society; people in society hold such standards in high regards and they tend to shape the way people think, behave and react to issues and situations around them. In her book, "Americanah", Chinamanda writes of a single lady who is over thirty years and is seen as  unserious, lacking focus, and is viewed with "corner eye" (in local pigin context), which is partial to disdain or disgust.

In Nigeria and Africa at large, emphasis has been placed on graduating with a 1st class degree, or getting a masters degree, it has in a way become a societal thing, anything short of that tags one as unserious or a failure. We forget to develop the social part of life, develop our inner talents or build life skills, without which one can hardly be complete.

Getting an education is good, important even but it's not everything. In the wake of the festive period, a friend of mine visited a home of family friends and during his visit, a male child between age 4-5 came out with a plastic jerican on one hand and sticks on the other. Now, using those tools to drum, the young boy was scolded immediately. The point is, raw talents ,skills and gifts should be nurtured, grown and allowed to flourish. The average, regular parent in Nigeria having one form of education must realize that with the changes in the world today people hardly practice what they studied in school, majority are living through skills acquired or talents.

Let us encourage the young ones to aspire to be creative always, letting individuality show. Let us dare the children to think out of the box because they are the future of tomorrow.

We're going to be dealing with it and we're going to be making sure he gets the relevant paperwork."

Wilder tweeted : "The $50M offer for him to fight me next in the U.S. is still available. Today I even agreed to their offer to fight Joshua next in the UK. If he prefers the fight in the UK, the ball is in their court. It's up to them to choose."

Not long after, we got a picture from Joshua on twitter with the caption "getting ready to rumble". Everybody assumes he is talking about the proposed fight that will turn reality soon.

Wilder's co-manager Shelly Finkel fed us some juicy bits, "We have agreed to the terms that Eddie has put out to us for a fight in the U.…
