THERE WILL BE A DECLARATION OF STATE OF EMERGENCY ALL OVER THE COUNTRY - ADAMU ADAMU

The Federal Government is to declare a state of emergency in the education sector in April.

Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu shared this when he received Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello of Niger and some members of his cabinet at the Federal Ministry of Education Headquarters in Abuja.

Adamu said, “By the end of April, we are proposing there will be a declaration of state of emergency in the education sector all over the country.
“We request all the state governors to do same in their states and we hope that once this is done our educational sector will improve.
“I will also meet with the governors to appeal to them to give special emphasis to address the problem of low standard of education especially at primary level."

According to Mr Adamu, the ministry is planning to present a proposal to the National Council of State for graduates of education to henceforth be employed on Grade Level 10 of eight. He said the proposal would also include offering employment to students studying education in tertiary institutions.

Editor's note: Right about time! We are happy the government is seeing the bigger picture. For those students in education faculties, this promise of engagement coming from the Federal Government is a lifeline that should ginger you to a higher level of commitment. This a clarion call to all stakeholders.

We at scholarsvine advise the Minister to run with this vision and leave no stone unturned to take Nigeria to its rightful place in the committee of nations. This will definitely begin the gradual curbing  of brain drain. Congratulations in advance Nigeria!

The other sectors that require urgent emergency approach are the power, energy and health sectors. Tackle these effectively and the much sought after development would follow.
