BILLY GRAHAM DEAD AT 99

American evangelical Christian evangelist and an ordained Southern Baptist minister, Billy Graham is dead.

Graham said, "Someday, you will read or hear that Billy Graham is dead. Don't you believe a word of it. I shall be more alive than I am now. I will just have changed my address. I will have gone into the presence of God."

Graham died from natural causes on February 21, 2018, at his home in Montreat, North Carolina, at the age of 99.

United States President Donald Trump has described Billy Graham as “a very special man ,” following the famed preacher ’s death on Wednesday ( today ) aged 99 .

Vice President Mike Pence has offered his condolences to the Graham family, saying the evangelist’s “matchless voice changed the lives of millions .”
“We mourn his passing, but I know with absolute certainty that today , he heard those words , ‘Well done , good and faithful servant ,’” Pence tweeted.

Graham was nicknamed “God ’s machine gun, ” and he did not find it offensive at all. Graham preached to live audiences of nearly 215 million people in more than 185 countries.  In his six decades of television, Graham hosted annual Billy Graham Crusades , which ran from 1947 until his retirement in 2005. He also hosted the popular radio show
Hour of Decision from 1950 to 1954.

Graham was a spiritual adviser to American presidents and provided spiritual counsel for every president from Harry Truman to Barack Obama.  He was particularly close to Dwight D. Eisenhower, Lyndon B. Johnson (one of Graham's closest friends), and Richard Niton. He insisted on racial integration for his revivals and crusades in 1953 and invited
Martin Luther King Jr. to preach jointly at a revival in New York City in 1957.

Graham's spokesman Jeremy Blume confirmed his death to CNN on Wednesday, describing the deceased as “a confidant to presidents, a guiding light to generations of American evangelicals and a globe-trotting preacher who converted millions to Christianity.”

Former President Jimmy Carter said in a statement that he and his wife Rosalynn “are deeply saddened” at the news of Graham’s death and that he was “pleased to count Reverend Graham” as a friend and adviser.

Former President George H.W. Bush called Graham “America’s pastor” and said he was a mentor to several of his children, including former President George W. Bush.
“His faith in Christ and his totally honest evangelical spirit inspired people across the country and around the world. I think Billy touched the hearts of not only Christians, but people of all faiths, because he was such a good man,” the elder Bush said in a statement
Bush said he was “privileged” to count Graham as a “personal friend.”
“He would come to Maine to visit with Barbara and me, and he was a great sport. He loved going really fast in my boat. I guess you could say we had that in common. Then we would come home and talk about life.”

Already, the world over, millions of people are talking about his death. Rest on, Reverend Billy Graham.
