LEAH SHARIBU TURNS 16 TODAY, IN CAPTIVITY!!!

Leah Sharibu was among the abducted 109 girls of the Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi in Yobe State. The girls were abducted by the terrorist group, Boko Haram on February 19, 2018. Leah Sharibu who was aged fifteen at the time of the abduction in March 2018 turn 16 today, Monday. While 104 abducted girls were released to their parents, Leah Sharibu was held back by the captives because she refused to renounce her Christian faith.

MTV'S SHUGA SEASON 6!!!


MTV Shuga Season 6 tagged MTV Shuga Naija , recently premiered at the FilmHouse IMAX Cinema , Lekki, Lagos State.

Commenting on the return of MTV Shuga, Executive Vice President and Managing Director , Viacom International Media Networks Africa ( VIMN Africa ) , Alex Okosi , said : “VIMN Africa is committed to empowering young people in Africa , and through MTV Shuga, we address key social issues affecting young people through realistic storylines and characters that resonate with them . The series seeks to impart knowledge and empower the youth to take positive action towards their health and lives . ”

On MTV Shuga the story line resonates globally. MTV Shuga Naija is loaded wuth entertainment and pop culture, weaving stories that speak to young people across Nigeria and the many gatekeepers they have to engage with as they navigate choices about safe sex, family planning, the use of contraceptives, peer pressure , domestic and sexual violence. 

Georgia Arnold , Executive Director , MTV Staying Alive Foundation and Senior Vice President of Social Responsibility for MTV Networks International has said, “We are thrilled to be bringing MTV Shuga back to Nigeria . We can ’t wait to share the exciting new storylines and important messaging on family planning and sexual health that we ’re touching on this season . We ’ll explore more issues that affect young people and highlight the reality faced by many adolescents in their everyday lives , as well as the choices they can make to empower themselves. ” 

According to a World Bank study on the series , Nigerian viewers were more than twice as likely to go to centers to get tested after six months of watching MTV Shuga. In addition , the rate of girls with chlamydia who watched MTV Shuga was 58 % lower than those who did not.

The programme recieves funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. MTV Staying Alive has also worked with Lagos State Ministry of Health , Hello Lagos , Nurhi , Adolescent 360 ( SFH ) and DKT to ensure accurate and relevant messaging throughout the scripts.

SUPER FALCONS BULLDOZE GAMBIA WITH 6 GOALS

The Super Falcons of Nigeria scored 6 goals to Gambia's 0 at the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations final qualifier at the Agege Stadium.

HE CLIMBS 4 STOREYS TO REACH A CHILD ON BALCONY. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

In what is being called the spiderman act, 22 year old Mamoudou Gassama reportedly took seconds to reach a child hanging off a balcony 4 storeys high.

The young Malian who entered France some months back proclaimed: “I saw all these people shouting , and cars sounding their horns . I climbed up like that and thank God , I saved the child.
“I was not thinking of anything. I went straight up”, Gassama, who wore jeans and a short-sleeved patterned shirt, told Macron, recounting the episode.
“Bravo,” Macron replied.




He said that the boy was crying when he hauled him to safety and had also suffered an injured foot.

The incident occurred around 8: 00 pm ( 1800 GMT ) on Saturday in northern Paris .
