INDEFINITE STRIKE HITS IBB UNIVERSITY, NIGER STATE

ASUU, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Niger State has gone on an indefinite strike.

Before now, the body had demanded that the State Government, owner of the institution make the N500 million payment for accumulated hard earned allowances, improvement of infrastructure on campus and general welfare of staff and students which according to the union, "are nothing to write home about".

An ultimatum was given to the State Government to pay up after the union was told to forget about the N150 million. The State Government said it could only pay N350 million.
ASUU rejected this proposal because this debt was not incurred by the current administration. For this reason, the N150 will forever remain "untenable since government is a continuum".

Dr Salau Lawal, Chairman of ASUU, IBB University said, the "end of the seven day warning strike embarked upon by our members" has resulted in the current indefinite strike.

I don't want to think about another strike wave in the country. Last year, it was a series of different forms of such industrial action from different unions in different institutions in Nigeria.

Editor's note:
Are there other means by which agreements can be reached without the body going on strike?

Should the ASUU, IBB University Chapter have collected the N350 million without insisting on the balance of N150 million? After all, this debt did not emerge from the current administration.

We're going to be dealing with it and we're going to be making sure he gets the relevant paperwork."

Wilder tweeted : "The $50M offer for him to fight me next in the U.S. is still available. Today I even agreed to their offer to fight Joshua next in the UK. If he prefers the fight in the UK, the ball is in their court. It's up to them to choose."

Not long after, we got a picture from Joshua on twitter with the caption "getting ready to rumble". Everybody assumes he is talking about the proposed fight that will turn reality soon.

Wilder's co-manager Shelly Finkel fed us some juicy bits, "We have agreed to the terms that Eddie has put out to us for a fight in the U.…
