Through the United States’ supported Young African Leaders Initiative ( YALI ) which has a vision to build leadership skills among African youths, the African Youth Academy last week trained 150 youths from across the country on entrepreneurial and leadership skills, thus enabling the growth of a new crop of leaders in the country. The training took place in Kaduna State, Nigeria.

Speaking at the closing ceremony on Saturday was the Director General of the academy, Mr Daniels Akpan, "One out of every three persons in Africa is an adolescent between ages 10 to 24 years, and one out of every two persons in Africa is below 35 years," he said.
He further added that, "The population of adolescence and young persons in Africa is on the increase, creating the need to identify and mentor the next generation of African leaders. Our desire is to transform our youth into honorable leaders and agents of change."

Some of the beneficiaries of the programme had something to say after the five day training:
Balkisu Gorin, Adamawa State said:
“I have learnt a lot. Now I know I can stand on my feet and become what I want to be .It is really an eye opener for me.”

On the other hand was David Kado, Dental Technologist, Kaduna State:
"As a leader of tomorrow, I have equally learned about good leadership skills and how one can contribute to community development."

The African Youth Academy was designed to inspire youths for greatness but more importantly, to bridge (the) leadership gap by helping young people build the right values, ethics and accountability as leaders of tomorrow.
Each beneficiary was drawn from different states of the federation; they were trained on ethics, accountability, career choice, and community engagement, entrepreneurial and business development.

Wilder tweeted : "The $50M offer for him to fight me next in the U.S. is still available. Today I even agreed to their offer to fight Joshua next in the UK. If he prefers the fight in the UK, the ball is in their court. It's up to them to choose."

Not long after, we got a picture from Joshua on twitter with the caption "getting ready to rumble". Everybody assumes he is talking about the proposed fight that will turn reality soon.

Wilder's co-manager Shelly Finkel fed us some juicy bits, "We have agreed to the terms that Eddie has put out to us for a fight in the U.…
